Newly coined words

I love 5 year olds. They're confident enough with language, but they're still learning the rules of language, and trying to apply them. It's endearing and fascinating. :)

Here are some of Seth's latest:

longth - "Look mom, these two are the same longth!" (long + length) Personally I think longth makes more sense. Where did the 'e' come in anyway??
stompede - "The rhinos are going to stompede." (stomp + stampede)
flomp - "All that heavy snow is making the tree branches flomp." (flop+stomp+flow+flat+plop, etc)

5 year olds are continuously spouting words that are like Dr. Seuss creations, and remind me of Lewis Carrol's "The Jaberwocky." Both of which are pure genius. First language acquisition is about the coolest thing in the world.

Any other cool ones you've heard from kids?

So clever and cute...and with great logic, I must say! This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but nevertheless cute: Mary (at about age three) came into our bedroom one morning and said, "Get up...It's TWENTY O'CLOCK" :)

My niece says "narbles" instead of "marbles." It's so cute we kind of don't like to correct her.

Oooo - that's a good one! The boys would say Ellen's slobber is iggly. :)
