Three Boys and a Girl

Boy oh boy oh boy! :)

We thought we were lucky having one boy. And now three! Seth knew it was a boy all along, and was extremely adamant about it. We should've given him more credit - maybe he knew something we didn't! Honestly, girls would be fun too, but it wouldn't hurt our feelings if we had a whole house full of boys.

The ultrasound technician was exceptionally throrough in her examination of the baby. I've never seen them check so many parts of the brain, or take so many pictures and measurements of multiple parts of the spine, just to mention a few areas of focus. It's nice to walk out of there and know that every single part of this child looks healthy. She did say he was a little bit on the big side, but that's not at all unusual for our babies. And we get to have another ultrasound in 6 weeks so they can check his thyroid growth. That will be fun with him being even older.

I just love knowing something about him now. There's something about seeing the baby, and knowing the gender that makes you feel even closer to the baby inside you.

Now for a name. . . As if we didn't exhaust all our resources coming up with names for the first two. . . Any good ideas?

I refuse to give you any ideas for names, because most of the good ones have already been stolen anyway. :)
I need to start making a more baby boy quilt too. Any suggestions?

But give Mary a week or two and her "favorite" names will be set aside for the new, improved names that she heard and said she liked in the recent few days.

I always have liked that one too, but the only problem with it is that it's only two letters short of JoNATHAN. . . so that would be wierd. . . But keep the suggestions comin. :)

So Mary, how bout passing on last week's discarded names?

And colors for a quilt. . .I'd have to look at some fabrics - but I'm feeling like rich bright colors - maybe a lime green and a deep bright blue or something. Second thought - some neutral greens and blues might be really nice and soothing too. . . That's about as far as I've gotten. :)

I thought you used to date a guy named Nathan... Does that have something to do with it?

Nope - never any Nathans. But yes, those names are pretty much ruled out. :)

There's a special place in heaven for the mother of three (or more) boys. I'm reading a book about pioneers and there are some great names in there: Hillhouse, Whansley, Chatfield, Brunnerd. Can't go wrong with any of those.

But how to chose which one??

You know with names like that he wouldn't have to go by Brunnerd A. in kindergarten because there was also a Brunnerd S. in the class.

I remember someone (was it one of you?) telling us that they had friends who decided to let their son chose his own name at the age of 5. He chose Chumley, and they kept it. Maybe we'll just do that.

It's a great idea and everything, but maybe they should've waited till he was 25.
