FHE this week

We did FHE tonight because John had to stay later at work yesterday. Our topic was keeping our minds pure, and not partaking of things that are harmful to us. It was the next topic from the Primary list of "My Gospel Standards" that we're using for our FHE's now. So we talked about pornography, what it is, why it's horrible (they already knew that,) and what to do if you stumble upon it. I'm glad they are equipped with that understanding so they're ready. It was a good discussion - they had a lot to contribute.

Then we had rice crispy treats and played out back. Jonathan wanted to play make-believe, and chose Sleeping Beauty. He designated me as Aurora, (good thing he didn't say I was Malificent,) and John was Prince Phillip of course, and the boys were his squires. They fought through the thicket, killed the dragon and rescued me with true love's kiss. Then we played Peter Pan. John was Hook, Jonathan was Peter, Seth was "the super hero" (he's a free thinker,) and I was Wendy, who was many times captured and taken away by Captain Hook, and many times rescued by Peter Pan and the Super Hero. After Hook was eaten by the fearsome and very ferocious croc, we whisked the young adventurers upstairs into the house and sent them off to their own respective neverlands.

Good times. :)

Christine, thanks so much for your input on my blog. You are so great!

By the way, your FHE sounds like it was a great one. You guys had a good, productive discussion, then geared up for a fantastic adventure; complete with a fair maiden and her valiant prince...How romantic! (she says in a girlish sigh)

PS Who was the swashbuckling Captain Hook
