Three Boys and a Girl

Meet my two new nephews. . .

For those of you who aren't Bushmans and don't already know all this, Micah and Joey have the boys now and they posted videos of them, and also of video of the house they thrilled to be staying in. They named them Joseph and Andrew, middle names pending. Andrew doesn't look as fair skinned as the first pictures anymore - he's acquired a little pigment in his old age. So there they are, good looking as ever. :)

Ambiguity for 4 year olds

The other morning while Jonathan was polishing off the last of his breakfast of cheerios and raisins, he leaned back, sighed and said, "This is a great meal." It was a little unexpected, considering that he eats that every morning, and that he used the word "meal" for it, and it made me smile and say "well thanks, Jonathan." Then he continued, gesturing with his signature open hands for clarity. "Remember the word "great" that means "big?" That's the word I'm saying. So this is a GREAT breakfast." Pause. "You know, like Great-Horned Owl? That's the kind of great I'm talking about."
I had to find a piece of paper and write it all down because it was so classic and funny for him to come up with that whole speech. So next time you offer someone food and they tell you it's a great meal, remember the possibility of ambiguity, and try to hold back from assuming it's a compliment. :) I like that Jonathan a lot.

A part of me is missing. . .

Joanna and Micah left yesterday for Guatemala to pick up their two new baby boys! They'll be gone for maybe 8-10 months, depending on how long legal things take down there. We've been so busy packing and organizing and packing and packing that we didn't have time to get mushy about it, but saying goodbye was still no fun at all. Except that I'm so excited for them, and I have no doubt that this will be so incredible for their family, so that makes it easier. I just wish I could experience it all with them really. :)

They pick up the boys tomorrow at 3! They have to find (and be moved into) housing before they can do that though, so your prayers for them are welcome, to say the least. They thought they had one sqaured away before they went down, but there was a misunderstanding, so now they're looking again. Yesterday Micah said he feels like Lehi, taking his family out into the wilderness, not knowing beforehand what to expect or how everything will work out, but knowing that it's what the Lord wants them to do. I almost posted the pictures of the boys up here, but thought they might not want me to, so just picture two handsome little boys with full heads of black hair, one darker skinned and the other a little more fair skinned. 4 days apart and super adorable in every way.

Seth has been asking for Joanna too today. :) It'll be fun having my parents staying in their house across the street from us though too now. We'll all go through withdrawls when they leave after the Olsons come back. :) Anyway, that's the latest and greatest of it all.
