Tag

I've been tagged by John to say five things about me that not everyone knows. . .And coming up with these five was way harder than it sounds, because the people who know me, know me pretty well.

1. When I was young I always really really wanted to become an archeologist.
2. When I paint or draw I often find that my toes are flexed and lifted up.
3. Because of some wierd fear that I have of breaking my teeth, I cover my teeth with my tongue when I even think about a bad fall.
4. I still have stickers saved up from when I was 6.
5. If I could eat sushi every day, I would.

Kari or Adam, Carrie or Tanner and Mary or Rob, you're it.

Trees Company

Okay so the title was John's idea. . . But this is our lovely Christmas tree.

We love it. I already know I'll miss it when it's gone.

The boys did the popcorn strands with us one evening, and we also made some other ornaments and snowflakes together. Growing up we always had popcorn and cranberries on our Christmas trees, so having popcorn strings on our tree feels very nice and homey to me.

Jonathan painted the ornament on the bottom right (and some others) by himself, and even came up with (and stuck with) the idea of doing a "patterren" of alternating red and green.

This has been an absolutely awesome Christmas so far.

Jonathan's handiwork

These are the latest works of art by the newly emerging young artist in the house. He did all the cutting and gluing by himself, except the ornaments and star.
He loves the glitter and wanted to do a sunset above the snowman.

We proudly display them in our gallery here at home. Stop by to view the exhibit any time.

Homemade fun

. . . is the best kind of fun.

You wouldn't believe the amount of entertainment you can get from a few paper plates, some rubber bands and a box. We made these the other day and they have been the hit ever since.

They stand together and do concerts for me. What beats that?

We had to make two banjos because they became the hot item, and 1 banjo doesn't split very evenly between two small musicians.

This is why I'm so happy to be able to stay at home with my kids. This is what life is all about.
