So, about the Beach House.

When is everyone going??

Here's my thing. Everyone and their dog is going to be crammed into the place the first weekend. Which would be great to see them all, but is it bad if I prefer having a bed, not to mention a room for a little one's nap? (I don't mean to sound mean, I'm just thinking about logistics. . .) Later in the week we could have a lot more room if we all (us kids) came then. But for us a lot hinges on when the rest of us siblings are going to be there (especially the Oregon and Idaho folk we don't get to see as often.)

So lets hear it. Give me all the comments you got.

Wii Haw!

So we finally got one! It's awesome.

Favorite parts of our play today:

6. Making our Mii characters that look just like each of us in our family. Seth's is especially like him.
5. Tennis. It's just fun.
4. Micah and John trash talking while boxing.
3. Seth watching dad play and getting so excited that he yelled out, "Yeah Dad! That's Awesome!!" (he's never said that before)
2. Watching Jonathan bowl!!! He was incredible! He bowled over 90 his first game. He was so proud of himself (very discretely) and celebrated strikes in the most sincere and delightful fashion.
1. Me actually whooping John for once in my entire existence at a video game. We start at the same level (almost) because with the new kind of controllers, he hasn't been perfecting his skills for the past 20 years. :) Ok, so I still only beat him maybe 3 times the whole evening, but it's worth commenting on anyway.

Mostly we're just trying to lure you all into coming for a visit! :)

Easter at the Anderson's

We like to do our Easter festivities on the Saturday before Easter Sunday, so that Sunday can be a reverent day to focus on the Real Easter. This year I said "Easter Fun-day" and Easter Sunday. I only said it once, but it stuck. (That's not to say that a reverent Sunday isn't also fun.)

John did a really cool experimental style of pressing the egg on a napkin down in the egg carton and dripping the dye on it with a straw. It made a pretty neat design as it cascaded down the egg, but the coolest part was the design that the napkin had imprinted on the bottom. John's awesome. We all had fun coloring eggs. I love that part of Easter. I think we should do it all the time. :)

The hunt with the boys this year was even more fun than last year. Jonathan was darting all over the yard, letting out little gasps and putting on extra bursts of speed when he saw an egg.

Seth even knew the game. He was so cute when he found one, laughing and pointing to it, so excited.

Easter egg hunts are so so fun as parents of 2 and 4 year old children.

This year in their eggs they had mixes of cracker whales, raisins, pistachios, peanuts, fruit snacks, chocolate teddy grahams, and a few jelly beans. I love watching the discovery when they open the eggs.

Little boys know how to get the job done when it comes to eating treats.

It's pretty serious business there for a while. Seth was especially intent, not even looking up at all. :)

This of course is a teddy graham growl.

And grandparents always add to the magic. :) Even for me.

I probably had as much fun as they did (or more) just watching them do the whole hunt and enjoy their treats. Family Rocks.

Jungle Boys

We borrowed "The Jungle Book" movie from my parents, and Seth and Jonathan love it. I think their favorite two parts are the songs "The Bear Necessities" and "We're Your Friends" sung by the vulture quartet. Even Seth knows all the words. He and Jonathan "harmonize" on the vulture song at full strength. They always do the part at the end where Shir Khan joins in and goes so low "That's what friends aaaaaare for," and to hear them with their two little-boy-voices trying as hard as they can to get anywhere near the notes he hits cracks me up every time. Secretly of course. They do such a great job. Seth sings both of the songs by himself out loud in his bed at night. Classic.
